Art Journaling with Tamiko

I loved creating the cover to this small art journal.  I don't usually create small, but I said on this book, I wanted to concentrate on texture and details!  I did just that with the Art Journaling stamp set by Terri Sproul.

I began with a blank page I took some torn patterned papers and added not only and implied texture by the pattern, but also a visual texture because the paper was thick. I adhered it to the page with matte medium from the Deco Art Media line.  I also added a piece of mesh I had sitting on my desk for texture with a little Whipped Spackle, which is a heavy gesso thats light and fluffy.

I then applied the Dylusions paint with my finger to the page rather freely, I love getting my hands all full of color! I stenciled through some punchinella with even more paint with my finger.

Then I inked my stamps up with some Ranger Archival Ink and randomly stamped on the page.  Decided i wanted the word JOURNAL to protrude, so I stamped it on a painted piece of scrap corruagted board and adhered it to the cover page with my trust Helmar 450!  I then also took my Pilot Permaball and added some extra line details and tada!

I love the opportunity the stamps set gives you to play and add details to even the most texturous of projects!  I hope you decide to grab one and don't just take my word for it, play with it.. and see how often it easily becomes one of your favorite go to stamps sets!

Thanks for arting out with me and just take make it easier for you here is the link to the Sin City Stamps website.  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmasssss, buy you and a friends some stamps and CREATE SOMETHING!!  ::chuckles::  Thanks for stopping by!!!

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Hi Chris here and I am sharing this Christmas Eve layout I created using Sin City Stamps! To get started I used the following supplies:

Sin City Stamps: Winter Wonderland - sleigh, small snowflake
                          Peg Round Christmas
                          Tiny Numbers for ATC
Vellum
Patterned paper-Crate Paper
Cardstock
Ink- Staz-on, Ranger Archival (Jet Black, Red Geranium)
Tim Holtz Distress Markers-Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Pine Needles, Iced Spruce, Festive Berries, Ground Espresso
Spectrum Noir Markers- TN3, TN5, DR3, PP5, CT3, TB3, JG1

I started out by first stamping the sleigh from Winter Wonderland onto vellum with Staz-on Ink.

I then fussy cut out my stamped image.

I then turned my image onto the back side and began coloring the image with my Spectrum Noir markers, I used TN3 and TN5 on the reindeer, and then  DR3 on Santa. I then used PP5, CT3, TB3, and JG1 to color the toys. Here is the result.

I then took the large candle banner from Peg Round Christmas.  This is a huge stamp, I angeled the stamp on my block for a better fit.

After stamping my image I colored my image with the Distress Markers.

I then hand wrote my title

I then started on my layout by matting my background papers onto cardstock.  I choose bold papers to match the kids jammies. I then added a large red block to the background.

I then added a large circle cut from patterened paper.

I then decided to add some small snowflakes to the red block for visual interest.

I then added my photos and then added the stamped sleigh at the top of my photos and the stamped title to the bottom of my layout.  I stamped the year on the bottom of the red block.
I hope you enjoyed this layout!.

Fabulous Fall

Hello All Lanette Here!

Today I'm going to share a festive fall tag featuring a couple of Pam's fabulous Fall stamps!

First lets take a look at my card and then I will take you through my process.

Blank Page Muse Stamps Supplies Used:  Pam Bray's Fall Collection

Other Products Used: Ribbon, Twine, Cardboard, StazOn Ink, Art Anthology Paint & Colorations Spray.

Now lets look at my process......

I started by stamping one of Pam's Fall Stamps at the bottom and flipping it over and re stamping an inch above the first image.

Next I choose a warm color comb and sprayed my background.

After the golden colors were dry I added a bit of red to mix it up a bit.

Just to add a bit of sparkle I added a bit of  Art Anthology Sorbet through a leaf stencil.

Next I stamped several of the leaves from the Fall Collection. After I stamped the images I painted them using a mix of Art Anthology paints.

After my paint dried I cut my leaves out and began building up my embellishments.

Next I knew I wanted to use one of the verses from Pam's collection but I wanted it spaced a little differently so I just stamped it a few times and cut away...

Same verse just a little different look...

And there you have it easy peasy a fun little tag to celebrate the fall season!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

LEAF CARDS WITH "TERRI SPROUL'S LEAVES" STAMPS

Hello and thanks for visiting!  Today, I am sharing some cards I made using the "Terri Sproul's Leaves" stamp set from SinCity Stamps.

It's the time of year where we give thanks.  And giving really pretty leaf cards to the people we are thankful for is so nice!

I started by stamping my leaves on watercolor paper and heat embossing them.  I cut the paper to 4"x5.25" so they would mat well on a card base.

Next, I wet the paper by spraying it with water.  Then, I used watercolors to add light mottled color to the stamped paper.  I also added really fine glitter to the watercolors so the leaves would sparkle a little. Aren't they soooo pretty??  That is why I heat embossed the leaves first, so they would have a perfect outline and wouldn't get ruined by the water.

EXTREME CLOSE UP!!  I wanted you to see the glitter and the shine from the heat embossing.  LOVE THIS!

To finish, I wrote 2 sentiments on the bottom.  I wrote Blessings in colored pencil and Thank You in pen.  The very last thing I did was splatter some spray ink on the cards. (just because I love splatter!)
Wouldn't you love to give these to the people you are thankful for this year?  You see I have 3 more stamped leaf images left to add to my collection of cards.  I will be making them tonight for sure!  I already know who I'm giving them to!

I hope you enjoy making something for the people you are thankful for!!

The Color of Fall with Gratitude... with Tamiko

I love creating this page.. It totally says fall to me.. The the color of the leaves and texture of the bark of the trees.. I used a bunch of stamps from Sin City Stamps to create this page.  My supplies included:

Tim Holtz - Woodgrain stencil
Archival Ink Pad
Acrylic paints
Gelli plate
Deco Art- Moldeling paste
Deco Art Metallic Lustre- Espresso
Dylusions Paints- red, orange, green, yellow and brown
Gelli Plate ( I use the 8x10)
Helmar Craft and Hobby Pva glue
Spatula
Scissors
Distress ink
White Sharpie (water based)
Unibal Vision pen

What I did first is what you cant see is I made a few gelli prints using the leaves and some of the paint. I smoothed paint on the plate and stamped across it.

Then I took the modeling paste and with a spatuala I stenciled some on the page, rather thin-like.

Then I painted over the areas I stenciled with brown paint, to create what looked like a bark of a tree.

After the barks were created, I added a little bit of definition to the raised areas, by rubbing some metallic lustre. Can't see it well here..  ::sad face::

I started working on the leaves.  The leaves were stamped with archival inks and fussy cut.  I then inked the edges just a little bit.

I took my scoring tool and along the length of the leaf i created a faux crease to resemble a stem.  I also curled some of the edges of the leaf.

I finallally adhered the leaves to the page with some Professional Craft & Hobby PVA.  I wrote my quote in white sharpie (waterbased) and outlined the lettering with plain unibal vision pen.   Gratitude helps us to see what is there instead of what isn't.  Here just a few more photos of closeups for the page.

Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my journal page.  Remember you too can see the light in every day things and its starts with gratitude and some stamps from Sin City Stamps!!  Now GO MAKE SOMETHING!!
