Butterfly Mini Album - Part 2

Hello everyone!  Barbara here, and I want to share a couple of pages from my Butterfly Mini Book, as promised earlier.  You can click on the link above to see my earlier post where I decorated the front and back covers.  Now, I will be decorating the inside pages.  This month, we are also teaming up with another fabulous company, Altered Pages, so I am combining some of their products with Sin City Stamps' products to show you how well they work together.

Directions:

Paint both sides of page with white gesso, leaving some of the page color to show through.

Stamp background image from A Wing Above the Rest randomly over front of page with black ink.

Stamp numbers and letters from Art Journaling with Terri Sproul over back of page with black ink.

I spritzed both sides of the gessoed pages with home made distress ink mists in blue, green, and brown, but discovered that the colors disappeared on the gesso.  As you can see in the photos, the colors are not at all vibrant.    We will fix this later.

Stamp one mannequin image onto print paper with artprint brown ink, and a second one with green distress ink.  Adhere to lightweight chipboard and cut out.  Set the green one aside.

Stamp one medium butterfly image onto print paper with blue distress ink, and one with brown distress ink.  Cut out.  Set the brown one aside.

Print AP-761-Queen of Hearts collage sheet onto parchment card stock, and a second time reverse or mirror image the print.  Cut out one of the same lady images from each sheet.  Set the reversed image aside.

Put the first three pieces together, as shown.

Adhere to center of butterfly page, as shown.

I needed more color, so I swiped my blue ink pad along the edges, and added some green here and there in the center.

This is what it looks like on the back page.  Not good for a book page.
That is why I printed the second image in reverse, so I could make a second butterfly lady and adhere it to the back page.  This time, however, you will not put it together first, but instead, layer each piece, as shown.  This will ensure a good alignment.  Adhere lady image first.

Then adhere the butterfly wings.

Then adhere the mannequin, matching up along the bottom and below her face.

I need more color, so I swiped my green ink pad along the edges and added a bit of yellow in the center.

Now, my pages need some bling, so here is a close-up of front and back of this page.

For my second page, I first embossed the green page with a branch style die.  On this particular two-sided die, there is another pattern on the inside, which is the one used for this page.
Rub high spots with jade and violet chalk inks.
Turn page over and rub high spots with bisque and yellow ochre chalk inks.
I first fussy cut several Altered Pages collage images, inked the edges, and adhered them to the pages. Stamp small clock face onto tan scrap with Versamark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder.  Trim and place beneath postale butterfly square collage image, as shown.  Trim and add remaining collage images to page, as shown.  I also added some punched flourishes and paper flowers to embellish, with a few pearls in the flower centers.

I embellished the back of the page in a similar manner, stamping the bird image with blue ink onto a scrap of blue print paper and fussy cut it out.  See photo below.
Back
Well, there you have it.  Two pages down, several more to go.  But between the wonderful Sin City Stamps and the fabulous collage images from Altered Pages, I will get this book finished in no time.  So I hope you will visit both shops and see what wondrous products they have in store for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I would love for you to visit me at my blog and say hello.  Have a super creative weekend.

Hugs,
Barbara
